PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE March 2024
Greetings Fellow Shipmates,
Happy New Year, I hope this edition of the Hannah News finds everyone in good health and in good
spirits, physically, mentally, and financially, as I write this. The weather here in the Midwest has been
very cold and freezing, as it looks like a lot of you have been going through it. I believe we are all ready
for an early Spring to occur.
I have been in contact with Charley Dey of the Armed Forces Reunions, Inc. The 2025 reunion was voted
on by the membership at the 2023 reunion and will be in San Antonio, Texas. We are looking at it to be
held from Sept 28 - 03 Oct of 2025.
One of the tours I am looking at is the Fredericksburg/National Museum of the Pacific War. This is also
the boyhood home of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. This is possible, a great place to have our
memorial service, which we normally hold. The other tours are Buckhorn/Texas Ranger Museum, The
Alamo, and El Mercado Shuttle.
The wife and I are going to San Antonio, TX. on 15-17 Feb 2024 to check out the Holiday Inn Riverwalk
and their facilities along with the two tours. The contract should be signed after we look at everything they
have to offer.
More info for the reunion will be coming out in the June Hannah News. Hoping everyone is getting it put
on their schedule to attend. Will be looking forward to seeing old friends and as always making new ones
and memories.
Again, I wish the best and a Happy Easter Holiday for everyone and am looking forward to the upcoming
year. Hope this finds everyone well and please be safe,
Fair Winds and following Seas.
Dale Montague,
President USS Hancock Association
